4+ years of age, 2 hours. Meet the minis ranch program is an excellent “gateway” experience for young children and individuals with limited to no previous exposure to horses. This fun program allows individuals of all ages to gain hands on experience with horses including grooming, leading a horse, and navigating the obstacle course. Designed to build confidence around horses. Please wear long pants, boots and bring a cycle helmet if you have one; all participants under 18 must wear a helmet, we have some you can borrow but a cycle helmet is lighter. Cycle gloves are also great for handling ropes.

First Friday - June 2023

Rainbow Park Silverthorne

The Town of Silverthorne is making the first Friday of every month a reason for residents and visitors alike to get together and celebrate what’s special about this vibrant community. From arts and food to music and fun, First Fridays showcase the community’s talented artists and musicians. First Fridays are the town’s signature event series and welcome the entire community to participate. 

Attend First Friday in Silverthorne, tell guests about summer activities at the Ranch. No horses at this event!

Community members are invited to listen to live music, learn about summer programs and activities from us and other local non-profits, and enjoy free summer themed activities. June First Friday will be held on Friday, June 2 on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center Lawn.

New Member Orientation

NOTE: You must complete an application form prior to attending this session.

$50 per person or 5 volunteer hours.  Free to members

This class is mandatory for everyone who wants to volunteer with us or attend further classes at our ranch. Learn about Summit Valley Horse Center, safety around horses, horse/human communication, take a tour of the Ranch and have hands on interaction with our beautiful horses and mini-horses. We do not ride during Orientation. All experience levels, from people who are unfamiliar with horses to experienced horse handlers, and all ages, from 12 to 95+, are welcome and will enjoy this class. Please wear long pants, boots and other suitable attire; all participants under 18 must wear a helmet, we have some you can borrow but if already have one please bring it. Cycle/work gloves are also great for handling ropes.
