Home for the Summit Valley Horse Center (SVHC) is the former Hillyard Ranch property, 35405 Highway 9. Fifteen minutes from the heart of Silverthorne, this location allows us to provide programs on horse care, whilst training rescue horses to be more adoptable.

The property provides a landscape rich with opportunity for SVHC: two existing barns, 80 acres of riverfront grazing, several smaller fenced paddocks, loafing sheds, eight private stalls, plus a tack room and office space.

We are still developing and improving the property and have ongoing plans to further expand the  obstacle/ desensitization course for the horses, a riding trail, a indoor riding arena, more training spaces, the revitalization of the irrigation system, improvements to the barns, more secure fencing for the paddocks and more. In 2023 and 2024 we made substantial improvements to arena fencing, the mini and pony runs and a considerable amount of repainting of woodwork. In 2025 we added loafing sheds to most of the paddocks to give the horses shade and protection from the wind, these have proved very popular with the horses and more are on order for 2026.
