Despite being busy with programs and events, we have some amazing fostered rescue horses we have been doing lots of work with to help them find their forever homes🐴💚 Meet Amaris, a cute pony from Troublesome Creek Horse Rescue with lots of go! She would make an amazing pony for a confident kid. She loves getting out and getting to work💚 Meet Paco! Paco is a paso fino in his early 20’s from Troublesome Creek Horse Rescue who is ready to be your reliable trail ride partner. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Paco since the summer of 2024, and he has come a long way (even becoming a program horse for beginner groundwork and participating in riding lessons!). Paco spent his previous life being an endurance trail racer, and the open trails are his happy place🧡 Along with being an amazingly smooth ride thanks to his gait, sure footed and enthused to go, Paco is also very handsome🥰💚 Meet Dave! Dave, from Troublesome Creek Horse Rescue, is the epitome of tall, dark and handsome🖤 In his previous life, Dave was a part of a pack string. He developed osselets in his hind legs, so he may be sound for light riding, but nothing more. He absolutely loves attention and is a true gentleman, and would make a beautiful addition to any herd💚 Meet Terra! Terra is a 20 year old registered Andalusian mare from Troublesome Creek Horse Rescue. She was primarily a broodmare for most of her life. She still has lots of go, and loves getting to work. While we have not ridden her yet, it’s possible she is green broke under saddle. Stay tuned for updates on this beautiful mare!💚🥰 Meet Holly Ella! Holly Ella is a 15 year old Tennessee Walker from Troublesome Creek Horse Rescue. She was previously a part of a lesson program, but it became clear that that was not the path for her. She’s broke under saddle, and seems like she would enjoy the open trails more than an arena💚 Who could blame her? Meet Espi! Espi is a 2 year old BLM mustang mare from New Mexico, picked up by Wild Hearts Haven. She is easy to catch, loves attention, and is enthused on getting to work. She has been making milestones with her groundwork, and we are so excited to see how she progresses💚 Meet Cleme

It is with the heaviest hearts that we announce that today, our beloved Billy Bob passed away. Pushing 35 years old, Billy Bob came to SVHC in the spring of 2024 for what everyone thought would be one final summer of care. What we quickly found out is that Billy Bob not only intended on staying much longer, but he was going to take over SVHC in the process. We started letting Billy Bob roam the ranch during the day, and it quickly became a routine of letting Billy Bob out first thing in the morning. He explored the property all day, finding all of the best grass, greeting horses in their fields, breaking into the hay barn, or standing over the picnic table, waiting for scratches while you ate lunch. Billy Bob stole our hearts with his charming personality and his beautiful friendly face. He knew exactly what time breakfast and dinner was, and he certainly let you know if you were even a minute late! Billy Bob was a lifelong ranch horse, well equipped to handle himself while out in pasture. Today, Billy Bob let us know it was his time to leave us. He walked to greet some of his favorite herd mates, before he went to a more secluded corner of the property and laid down. He was surrounded by many of us as we watched him pass on. There will never be another horse like Billy Bob, he was truly one of a kind. We will miss him every day. Tomorrow, 3/15, SVHC will be closed as we mourn the loss of a pillar of our community. Please share your Billy Bob memories with us so he continues to live on. We love you Billy Bob, we will miss you💚🐴
